Bognor Regis Overview
Bognor Regis is known for its beaches, alongside the beach is the promenade which has a wide range of shops and great places to eat. One of the best things about Bognor, is Butlins which is a holiday camp that people all over the UK travel down to visit, opened in 1932 Butlins has been a massive part of Bognor Regis’s development. A zoo and an amusement park were also added in the 1930 which make this town an even more attractive place to live although unfortunately, the zoo is now closed but it may re-open in the future! Once a year during the summer there is a free music and arts festival, it has been running for 28 years now and is a brilliant festival to go to. The festival attracts over 30,000 visitors with a plethora of different music genres and is spread over 2 days. The Picturedome Cinema has been a cinema for over 100 years and has been recently refurbished and is a great place to visit to watch the newest films. Similarly, the Alexandra Theatre is a 300+ seat auditorium that hosts a wide variety of shows from pantomimes, stand-up acts and drama. The main shopping precinct has a range of different high-street stores as well as independent boutique shops.
Escape Bognor Regis
Just to the west of Bognor is Chichester Harbour, here you will find a lot of marine birdlife living in and around the wetlands. If you carry on west past the Chichester Harbour you will arrive at Portsmouth, Portsmouth is a very popular student city with a lot of activities to do. There is an outlet centre in Portsmouth where you will find great prices on some of the top brands such as Nike, Ralph Lauren and many more. If you head east along the sea front you will come to Brighton, Brighton is a fantastic place with a brilliant atmosphere, everyone there is very friendly as well as their being lots to do.
Transport in Bognor Regis
The A27 runs just north of Bognor and travels most of the way across the south coast of England, from the A27 you can join the M27 by Portsmouth which will link you to the national motorway network. From Portsmouth you can get the ferry to France and the Isle of Wight which makes Bognor the perfect place to live if you enjoy short breaks overseas. From Bognor Regis train station it will take roughly 1 hour and 40-minute direct train to get to London.
